Joshua Zimmerman has posted a review of the just-released in Japan Opera web browsing package for Nintendo DS. It features neat videos which demonstrate the powerful combination of the DS and wireless web browsing. It really makes me which I had a few hundred dollars to blow. [Check it out here.]

Browser usage is quite easy. Easy enough that I just started messing with it without reading the directions. The simple row of tool items are rather strait forward. You have your Forward, Back, Refresh, History, URL Entry, Bookmarks, Find, Settings, Help, Screen Mode, Picture On/Off, Zoom, and Screen Switch. To go to a webpage just go to the URL Entry button, click it, and either use the on screen keyboard or the handwriting recognition.

- What is it?
Bambalam PHP EXE Compiler/Embedder is a free command line tool to convert PHP applications to standalone Windows .exe applications. The exe files produced are totally standalone, no need for php dlls etc. The php code is encoded using the Turck MMCache Encode library so it's a perfect solution if you want to distribute your application while protecting your source code. The converter is also suitable for producing .exe files for windowed PHP applications (created using for example the WinBinder library, or with PHP-GTK). It's also good for making stand-alone PHP Socket servers/clients (the php_sockets extension is included in the static build).

It's NOT really a compiler in the sense that it doesn't produce native machine code from PHP sources, but it works!

- How does it work?
The converter embeds encoded PHP source files as resources in a generic statically compiled PHP launcher executable. It also has an option to compress the final exe using the UPX executable compressor. Simple console applications end up with an executable at a size of 500-600kb.

- Does "compiled" PHP applications run faster?
Theoretically it should. Having libraries linked statically and encoding files (Turck MMCache encodes PHP sources as PHP bytecode, I think) should contribute to faster applications. But I haven't done any decent tests on it.

Notepad++ is a free source code editor (and Notepad replacement), which supports several programming languages, running under the MS Windows environment.

This project, based on the Scintilla edit component (a very powerful editor component), written in C++ with pure win32 api and STL (that ensures the higher execution speed and smaller size of the program), is under the GPL Licence.

This project is mature. However, as you can see it's a one-man-project, there are still some bugs and missing features. If you have any question or suggestion about this project, please post them on the forums. As well, if you have any feature requests, you can always make the demand, but there’s no guarantee that I’ll implement it.

You're encouraged to translate Notepad++ (if it is not present in the Download Section) and/or to translate the Notepad++ official site into your native language.

I hope you enjoy Notepad++ as much as I enjoy coding it.

Not all of these pages are administrator's access databases containing usernames, passwords and other sensitive information, but many are!

DCForum's password file. This file gives a list of (crackable) passwords, usernames and email addresses for DCForum and for DCShop (a shopping cart program(!!!). Some lists are bigger than others, all are fun, and all belong to googledorks. =)

intitle:"Index of" config.php
This search brings up sites with "config.php" files. To skip the technical discussion, this configuration file contains both a username and a password for an SQL database. Most sites with forums run a PHP message base. This file gives you the keys to that forum, including FULL ADMIN access to the database.

eggdrop filetype:user user
These are eggdrop config files. Avoiding a full-blown descussion about eggdrops and IRC bots, suffice it to say that this file contains usernames and passwords for IRC users.

intitle:index.of.etc
This search gets you access to the etc directory, where many many many types of password files can be found. This link is not as reliable, but crawling etc directories can be really fun!

filetype:bak inurl:"htaccess|passwd|shadow|htusers"
This will search for backup files (*.bak) created by some editors or even by the administrator himself (before activating a new version).
Every attacker knows that changing the extenstion of a file on a webserver can have ugly consequences.

Let's pretend you need a serial number for windows xp pro.

In the google search bar type in just like this - "Windows XP Professional" 94FBR

the key is the 94FBR code.. it was included with many MS Office registration codes so this will help you dramatically reduce the amount of 'fake' porn sites that trick you.

Australian PS3 launch date locked in

Sony has locked in 17 November as the Australian launch date for the PlayStation 3, just in time for Christmas. The system will come in two bundles -- a PS3 with a 20GB hard drive (confirmed RRP of AU$829) and one with a 60GB HDD (confirmed RRP of AU$999).

As a comparison, the Xbox 360's core bundle retails for AU$499, while its upgrade bundle which includes a 20GB hard drive retails for AU$649.

The Australian launch date will come one week after the US and Japan release for Sony's next generation games console. European territories will also receive the PS3 on 17 November. The almost simultaneous worldwide launch date is a stark contrast to Microsoft's Xbox 360, which was released in Australia a number of months after its US release. However, we wouldn't bet money on Sony hitting that date, as global launches are a logistical nightmare, and as with Xbox 360, supply issues could cause delays.

According to Sony's latest specs list for PS3, there are several key differences between the 20GB PS3 and the 60GB PS3 apart from hard drive capacity. While the 20GB PS3 has all of the basic power and functionality of its more expensive sibling (including a Blu-ray drive), the 60GB bundle comes with card slots (Memory Stick, SD, Compact Flash), HDMI support and built-in 802.11b/g wireless.

Simply boot from CD and enjoy Linux. Some tools may request a root password. As none is set, you have to set one using "sudo passwd" or use "su" in konsole.

Whenever you execute something with root permissions, you should know what you are doing! For web surfing over LAN no root access is required. I am sure you can discover many things to do with it :)

Don't try to write to NTFS partitions using the standard NTFS driver included with the kernel, as its support for writing is very lacking - thus it could destroy the partition and the data in it.

There is a new Captive NTFS driver that does a better job at writing to NTFS, so use it instead. For FAT partitions you can enable write-access with the context menu (right mouse button).

You may not have the rights to modify Linux partitions, use the root mode in konsole if needed. Some links are not working in the menu - that is not my fault - the packages from Debian/sid are very new and may have some little bugs, but you can always use new releases.

SLAMPPLite Live CD

SLAMPPLite is a Linux Live CD that will turn your personal computer into a simple home server. The difference from his big brother is that SLAMPPLite has smaller size and will fit into a 256 MB CD or USB stick.

SLAMPPLite contains only essential server applications like Apache, MySQL, DHCPD, ProFTPD, BIND, SSH and mail server. It also has several programming languages such as PHP, Perl and Python and other tools to support your web development work are also included.

To keep it slim and make it easy to update the applications, SLAMPPLite uses server suite provided by XAMPP. Kemas Yunus Antonius is the man behind SLAMPPLite, and he made this Live CD with a purpose:

"SLAMPPLite is compiled, intended to be your showcase box. So, when you have something to show to your (potential) users or clients, just put your web applications on SLAMPPLite and you will have an instant mobile portfolio. Concerning this state, it makes SLAMPPLite not suitable to be employed on production server, please use the standard SLAMPP instead. PCLinuxOS MiniME

The PCLinuxOS Team, Texstar, has announced today the relase of a new Live CD based on PCLinuxOS, at the request of those who have been asking for a minimal live CD / hard disk install. It's called "MiniME" and has a minimal set of packages to install and runs with kernel 2.6.15 and KDE as a desktop environment.

Here is the official release announcement:

"PCLinuxOS 0.93 MiniME is available for download and testing. This release is for those who have been asking for a minimum livecd/hd install allowing for full personalization. This release includes 2.6.15-oci3 kernel, Basic KDE 3.5.2 desktop (kdebase and kdelibs only), PCLOS Control Center, the Synaptic Software Installer and a customized xorg server from Thac to provide additional 3D support for many graphic cards. Full Version of PCLinuxOS 0.93 is currently being worked up and should be available soon."

Well, I have tested this 286 MB Live CD on an AMD64 3000+ Sempron processor, with a Nvidia 6600 graphics card and a 19" PHILIPS monitor. The CD boots fine, but it looks like it has a problem with the resolution and the desktop looks very ugly, but if you go to the PCLinuxOS's Control Panel, you can set up the display as you want and everything looks good. Except this little problem, I encountered other one, I didn't have any application to make screenshots, Ksnapshot was not present, neither "import" command-line from ImageMagick package, so I opened Synaptic Software Installer and installed The GIMP easily in a couple of minutes.

SLAX Server Edition

SLAX Server Edition is a pocket operating system with many Internet services ready to use. For those of you who don't know yet what SLAX is, it is a small bootable CD containing the Linux operating system, based on the Slackware distribution. SLAX runs Linux directly from the CD (or USB drive) without installing.

The SLAX Project:

The primary goal of SLAX is to provide a wide collection of useful software while keeping the CD's image small enough to be written to a 185 MB CD-R/RW (small 8 cm CD). SLAX boots directly from the CD or USB devices and it provides a full featured Linux operating system.

MCNLive "Leuven"

MCNLive is a Mandriva-based live CD developed by MandrivaClub in the Netherlands.

You may wonder what "Leuven" is? Leuven is a cute little town in Belgium where one of MCNLive Team members lives.

First XGL LiveCD

Kororaa Team has released today the first LiveCD that shows the new XGL, based on the Gentoo distribution.

"Today I am happy to release a Kororaa Live CD showcasing Xgl technology. If you would like to find out what it's all about, then download the CD and boot up your pc! The Live CD comes with Xorg 7, Gnome 2.12.2, 3D support, and of course Xgl."

So, I downloaded it, burned it on a CD and booted on my second machine, which has the following configuration:

- AMD Athlon XP 2200+
- nVidia GeForce 5200 video card
- 512 Mb RAM

The CD started with the usual Gentoo bootsplash. In the boot process it warned me about the nVidia graphics card and I remembered, from a previous press release, that nVidia cards are not supported at this time by the XGL technology. After the boot process finished, a login prompt appeared and, in about 5 seconds, it automatically logged me in into the GNOME desktop.

There is the README file on the desktop, with shortcuts for some of the XGL effects:

- Switch windows
- Arrange and View All Windows
- Switch desktops on cube
- Switch desktops on cube - with active window following Rotate desktop cube
- Display svg picture on top of cube
- Make window translucent/opaque
- Zoom-in once
- Zoom-in manually
- Zoom-out manually
- Move window
- Snap Move window (will stick to borders)
- Resize window

The tests were successful and provided quite amazing results. Please check out the screenshots below to see the XGL technology in action

Mozilla Announces ' Firefox Flicks ' Prizes

The winners for Mozilla's creative Firefox Flicks video contest were finally announced on Friday, at the San Francisco International Film Festival and three prices as well as two honorable mentions were given to five of the about 300 participants.

The "Firefox Flicks" competition allowed Firefox fans from around the world to submit short movies in which they promoted the open-source web browser. The selection was made by a jury and was based on characteristics such as production values, creativity, script or screenplay, choice of soundtrack or jingle, and the use of the Firefox logo throughout the movie.

The Grand Prize Was Won By Pete Macomber's "Daredevil" - which will be short-listed for the NY Festival of Advertising's 2006 International Advertising Awards in May. Pete Macomber Creates Music Videos, commercials and screenplays from his Venice, California home "when he is not out chasing waves". According to Mozilla, with "Daredevil", Macomber captures, in documentary-style, the youthful energy and approach to life of a girl whose "other browser is a surfboard".

Sadece kısa bir süre önce ortaya atılan metroseksüel terimini henüz çözemeden şimdi de teknoseksüellik kavramıyla karşı karşıya kaldık. İspanyol gazetesi La Voz de Galicia'ya göre metroseksüellik artık rafa kalktı. Yeni bir insan tipi büyük bir hızla ortaya çıktı. Gazetede bu yeni insan tipinin teknoseksüeller olduğu belirtiliyor. Bu kişilerin hayatlarında birincil öncelik sırası teknolojik gelişmeler. Bu kişiler büyük mağazalarda bulunan teknoloji harikası ürünlere uzun uzun bakıp inceleyerek vakit geçiriyorlar. Evde geçirdikleri vaktin büyük bölümünde de bu teknolojik aletler konusunda bilgi ediniyorlar.

Bu teknoloji hastası insan eğer erkekse, bunlar biraz asosyal oluyorlar. Genellikle bu tip erkeklerin sosyal ortamlarda ilişki kurmaları biraz güç oluyor. Teknoseksüel terimi ilk olarak Amerikalı fizikçi ve matematikçi Ricky Montalvo tarafından ortaya atılmış. Elbette Montalvo da kendisini bir teknoseksüel olarak tanımlıyor. Terim, narsizmini teknoloji bağımlılığına dönüştüren insanlar için kullanılıyor. Terim aslında 1970'lerde ilk kez ortaya atılmış ancak günümüzde teknoloji düşkünlüğüne cinsel isteksizlik de karışmış.

Teknoseksüel erkekler iyi görünümlü, tarzı olan kişilermiş ancak cinsel arzulardan tamamıyla uzak oluyorlarmış. Bu erkekler bir kadınla ilgilenmektense bir dizüstü bilgisayara, mobil telefona, plazma TV'ye veya bir bluetooth'a vakit ayırmaktan daha çok hoşlanıyorlarmış. Bu erkeklerin hoşlandığı tek karşı cins tipi, teknoloji hastası kadınlarmış. Bir kadının teknoloji hastası olarak tanımlanabilmesi için o kadının günlerini internette sörf yaparak, saatlerini chat odalarında sohbet ederek, alışverişlerini internet üzerinden yaparak, müziklerini mp3 çalarlardan dinlemesi gerekiyormuş.

Pek çok modern birey teknoseksüllerden kendinde bir parça bulabilir. Ofislerde insanlar genellikle arkadaşlarıyla ICQ veya MSN üzerinden sohbet ediyorlar. Esprili mailleri birbirlerine göndererek birbirlerine şaka yapıyorlar. Modern teknoloji yeni bir romantizm tarzını da ortaya çıkardı. Teknoseksüeller ellerine kağıt kalem alıp sevgi sözcükleri döktürmek yerine birbirlerine hazır elektronik kutlama kartları yolluyorlar. Bir teknoseksüel olup olmadığınıza kendiniz karar verin. Adamlar, mail sistemini iyice abartmışlarki: mail adresi içerisinde normalde yaptığınız kelime veya dosya aramalarınızı yapabildiğiniz gibi (zaten her sitede va ki bu), bu sefer resim mailleriniz arasından resim arıyosunuz ve size tıpkı google images özelliğini yansıtan bir modelle çıkıyo. Benim işime yaradı, çünkü eskiden çekilmiş fotolarımı ve komik resimleride bu şekilde buldum... (not: bu sistem daha önce yoktu, eğer varsada ben yeni gördüm, sonradan mızmız etmeyelim :) )

Üçüncü olarak, oluşturulan BellekDisk üzerinde kökdisk yansısı (rootdisk image) (initrd.gz) açılır ve kök dizin olarak monte edilir. /usr gibi büyük dizinler direk olarak CD üzerinden çalışacak şekilde monte edilir.

Türkiye’de ilk kez Project House tarafından geliştirilen ve herhangi iki kavramı Google arama sonuçlarını kullanarak karşılaştırma olanağı sağlayan Google Arena’da son bir ay içerisinde 50 binin üzerinde arama yapıldı. Eylül ayı içerisinde kullanıma açılan www.googlearena.com sitesinde, en çok futbol ve markalar ringe çıkarıldı. Project House tarafından Türkiye’de ilk kez geliştirilen ve herhangi iki kavramı, Google’da ayrılan sayfa sayısına göre karşılaştırma olanağı sağlayan Google Arena’da son bir ay içerisinde 50 bini aşkın arama gerçekleştirildi. 2005 yılında gördüğümüz hack vakalarına baktığımızda güvenlik şirketleri, kişisel ve şirket güvenliği ile ilgili bir hayli yeni metodlar geliştirmek zorunda kalacaklar. 2005 yılına bir bakış attığmızda, örneklerimizden ;

Ocak Ayında, George Mason Üniversitesi, bazı Crackerler’in sisteme girip, 30,000 kadar öğrenci, fakülte ve çalışanının kişisel bilgilerini ele geçirdiği tesbit edildi.

Kredi Kartı şirketlerinden biri, DSW Ayakkabı Deposunu, beklenmedik bir aktivite konusunda uyardı. Sözkonusu olay, 1,4 milyon kredi kartı numarasının çalınması ve bunun sonucu 3 ay boyunca süren soruşturmaydı.

Mart ve Nisan Aylarında, LexisNexis, 2003-2005 arasında, 59 farklı alanda, önce 32,000 sonrasında 310,000 Amerikan vatandaşının kişisel verilerinin açığa çıkartıldığını ilan etti.

Nisan Ayı’nda, Polo Ralph Lauren’ın müşteri veritabanı hacklendi ve 180.000 müşterinin kredi kartı numarası çalındı.

Eylül Ayı’nda, Georgio Üniversitesine yapılan saldırı sonucunda, üniversite veritabanına girildi, 1600 kişinin sosyal güvenlik numarası çalındı.

Aralık ayında, Dijital Forensic ve Güvenlik Programı EnCase’in üreticilerinden, Guidance Software şirketinin sistemine hackerlar tarafından girildi. 3800 Müşterinin kredi kartı ve kişisel bilgileri çalındığı gibi, tüm personelin kişisel bilgileri de kayboldu.

Güvenlik meselesinin, sanal dünyada gitgide daha da önem kazandığı aşikar.

Bu zamana kadar ne olduysa oldu, birçok insan kendini sanal ortamın vurucu kırıcı kişisi ilan etti. Kevin amcamız bu olayı başlatan biride sayılır haliyle, eee onun yolundan gitmek isteyen birçok kişi var haliye. Neyse, 80'li yılların sonlarına doğru gelişen pekçok fikir akışı ve sistem işleyişi bizi bulunduğumuz zamanı anlatmaya yetiyor. Oysa eskiden, ilk bilgisayar çıktığında o teknolojiyi daha doğrusu makinayı, alabilen çok nadir kimseler vardı. Dev hantal ve bir okadarda ucube bişeydi. 1950'lerde de oyle değilmiydi, alan turing 'in geliştirdiği algoritm ile geliştirdiği metod pekçok buluşa adını vermiş. (ilgilenen olursa..) Bugün ble hala bu cebirsel hesapların bilgisayar dilinde yoğun olarak kullanıldığını görürüz. Peki ama neden hala gelişemiyoruz, Pek çok dünya ülkesi kendi çabası ve sahip olduğu bilgilerle bu sistemi desteklemekte niye geçikiyo... Oysaki keşfedilmeyi bekleyen birçok insan ve yeni fikir istediği ortamı neden hala bulamıyor.Gelişmek yanllızca yeni yepyeni bilgi ve kolaylığa erişmek değil, bu olguyu oluşturan girişimcilere ortak olmakla da başlar. ve bu kadar...

Bulaştığı kullanıcıların harddisklerindeki dataları zip'leyip şifreleyen ve daha sonra bu şifrenin karşılığı için 300$ fidye isteyen bir trojanımız oldu. hadi hayirlisi.

Cryzip ismini taşıyan trojan aslında türünün ilk örneği değil daha öncede PGPCoder/Juny
benzer bir yapıya sahipti.

Fidyeyi egold sistemleri uzerinden kabul eden trojan odemeyi aşagidaki linkler üzerinden kolaylaştırıyor.

Microsoft'un Office uygulama paketinin yeni sürümünü uzun süredir geliştirmekte olduğu bilinmekteydi. Geliştirilme süreci boyunca Office 12 olarak isimlendirilen ürünün, satışa sunulduğunda isminin Office 2007 olacağı artık kesinleşti. Ürünün kod adı olan Office 12 ismiyle satışa sunulmayacağı zaten biliniyordu ama 2006 yılı içinde kullanıma sunulacak Windows Vista ile birlikte Office serisinin de yeni bir isim alıp almayacağı yönünde tartışmalar vardı.Verilen bilgilere göre, 2006 yılının son aylarında kullanıma sunulacak olan Office 2007 paketinde ofis uygulamalarının şu sürümleri bulunacak:

Geçen senelerin birbiriyle olan ilişkisi ve kazanılan onca arkadaşlık, hepsi yakında sona mı erecek. Evet 1-2 sene içinde mezun olmayı elbette ki herkes gibi bende istiyorum. Bu dönem okul bitiyo, kimileri yoluna devam edecek, kimileri gülecek, kimileri üzülecek... Keşke herşey hep umduğumuz gibi olsa hayat ne güzel olurdu değilmi. Önceleri bir iki kişi olsada şöööle bi muhabbeti koyulaştırsak dediğimiz günlere geri dön ve şimdiki değerlerin nasıl olabileceğini bi keşfet.. Tadını çıkarmak istersin, geçecek onca güzel günlerin ardından, ama olup biten seni hep yoracak ve bazen üzülmeye değeceksin. Ama mutlu olmayı dene, elbette kayıpların olacak, kaybettiklerinde... Bunusakın unutma, umutsuz olmayı deneme, zor durumu bile iyi -(yorumla) olarak betimle. Zaman hep akıyo, bize düşen onu yakalayabilmek...

Daha önceleri bilinenin aksine , insanların bile olup bitenin farkında olamadığı tek yer vardı. O da hemen öte sokaktaki bakkal amcanın terazisine uyguladığı azıcık gram hassasiyetidir. Biz bilemiyoruz tabi, neler olup bitiyo, kim kiminle ne kadarcık alışveriş yapmış, ne odemiş ne vermiş falan filan... Ama şimdilerde ise, hiçbiryere varmadan çevresinde adeta fırıldak olduğumuz, uçsuz bucaksız bir donem var "iNtErNeT". Çeşitli varsayımların olduğu bir yer orası. Zaten benim burda olmamın nedeni bunlardan biri değilmi. Bu sonsuz nimetten faydalanmak. Tabii ki, her alana hükmeden, gerekirse olmadan da bir şeyi oldu gibi gosteren bir sistem burası. Yazılarımı her türk vatandaşı gibi bende türkçe olarak yazıyorum. Alem biraz da türkçeyi anlamaya çalışsın. Neyse, asıl konumuza dönersek, aslında şimdiki zamanında bakkal amca'dan hiçbir farkı. Niye mi, hem bilirkişisiniz, sanılanın aksine hemde bilemezsiniz... Neyse ben burada bırakıyorum.. zamanda bayaa ilerledi....
